BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Remove the espresso machine from the packaging. Remove all plastic bags, fillers, safety
locks and packaging labels.
2. Inspect the espresso machine for damage which may have been caused in transport. If you
suspect that the espresso machine is damaged, do not use it. Consult the seller.
3. Verify that your power mains match the nameplate ratings of the espresso machine.
4. To ensure the best flavour of the coffee, carry out the steaming procedure. Follow these steps:
Remove the water tank (15) from the espresso machine, pour about 1 litre of cold drink-
ing water, and do not exceed 1.7 litres (the MAX level). Place the water tank back in the
espresso machine.
Place the filter (16) or (17) in the filter holder (18) and attach the filter holder to its receptacle,
and secure. The filter must be empty. Do not add any coffee yet.
Place the drip tray (13) in the drip tray seat (11) and place the drip tray grate (12) on the tray.
Place an empty cup on the grate. Make sure that the steam level knob (3) is set at its the
uppermost position.
CAUTION! The espresso machine does not come with any coffee cups. Use your own cups.
Plug the espresso machine to a mains outlet and start water heating by pressing (4). The
switch LED will start flashing. Turn on the pressure switch (5). The water heater will be
primed and vented of air. Once the water is hot, the hot water switch LED will be steadily
on. Press the pressure switch (5): hot water will start filling the cup. When the hot water
switch LED (4) starts flashing, turn off the pressure switch and empty the cup. When the
hot water switch LED (4) is steadily on again, repeat. Do this 2 times more.
CAUTION! When the water pump is turned on for the first time with the pressure switch, unusual sound may
be heard which will stop in approximately 30 seconds. This is the water pump being vented and it is perfectly
normal.
