Upstream isolation valve open-Downstream isolation valve closed.
The CRD setting screw is loose or factory set-up.
- Open slowly the isolation ball valve (2C).
- Simulate a low demand by opening slowly and slightly the down-
stream isolation valve.
- Turn clockwise the CRD setting screw for increasing (anti-
clockwise for decreasing) the downstream pressure.
The regulating valve CLA-VAL 90-01 opens and fills the downstre-
am system with a rate of flow controlled by the opening percentage
of the downstream isolation valve.
F or each half-turn of the CRD setting screw, wait for regulating
valve stabilization before additional correction.
- When the downstream system is pressurized at the prescribed
pressure value (it can take several minutes), open completely
the downstream isolation valve.
Upstream isolation valve open - Downstream isolation valve open.
Requested if regulating valve is pulsating or hunting.
T his unstable operation is frequently produced by low demand.
- Turn clockwise, by half-turn, the CV setting screw, until the hun-
ting action disappears
Check measuring ability of inlet and outlet gauges.
X44-A strainer screen:
- Close the isolation ball valve (2B).
• The CLA-VAL 90-01 is locked in a specific operating condition!
- Close the isolation ball valves (2A) and (2C).
- Remove the screen and change it with its respective O-ring.
- Check that DELRIN orifice is clean and replace plug O-ring.
- Open the isolation ball valves (2A) first, then (2C).
- Open SLOWLY the isolation ball valve (2B).
- Vent the main valve cover chamber with its respective venting
plug.
The light maintenance of the strainer X44-A is finalized.
Dynamic check of the CLA-VAL 90-01 CRD pilot:
- Turn half-turn CRD setting screw anti-or clockwise for mo-
difying the CLA-VAL 90-01 outlet pressure.
- After each half-turn correction, observe that the CLA-VAL 90-
01 reacts correctly and operates again without hunting.
- If above is correct, set-up again the prescribed CRD value.
The regulating valve CLA-VAL 90-01 is operating normally.
Recommended light maintenance schedule:
- For any regulating valve CLA-VAL 90-01, a light maintenance
should be made every two years, combined alternatively with
an integral maintenance programmed every two other years.
