The system supplies soft, high-purity water and removes pollutants, hardeners, viruses, bacteria and other
undesired substances from tap water – which is essential for the adjustment of species-appropriate water
values for freshwater and seawater aquariums.
The functional principle is the so-called reverse osmosis:
The tap water is pushed through a special membrane with ultrafine pores using the pressure in the do-
mestic water supply pipe. Due to the small size of these pores, only the small water molecules fit through
it. However, the bigger pollutant molecules, hardeners and salts are filtered out. Even bacteria and viruses
are removed. The result is a very soft, high-purity water.
A superfine prefilter and an activated carbon filter are installed upstream.
OSMOPower 2.0 reverse osmosis system – scope of supply:
3 filter steps
1
Step 1
Fine filter with a pore size of 5 µm (microns) in order to retain suspended particles, such as dirt, rust and
sand particles. Replace filter after 6 months!
2
Step 2
The activated carbon filter removes pesticides, herbicides and possibly present chlorine.
Chlorinated water destroys the membrane and its structure in an irreparable way. As a consequence, the
salts can no longer be retained optimally and the microsiemens of the water value increases.
Replace filter every 6 months!
3
Step 3
Special membranes with 0.0001 microns made of polyamide/polysulfone. This membrane only allows
small water molecules to pass through. Up to 99 % of pollutants, heavy metals, pesticides, salts and even
bacteria are filtered out. The pH value of the permeate cannot be predicted. The values can be corrected
using CO2 or hardening salts.
4
Flush valve at the waste water connection for cleaning the membranes
5
Flow restrictor which is adjusted in a ratio of 1: 3-4.
Tap connector (3/4")
3m pressure hose
Wall brackets and connection clamps
Filter key
Tipp:
It is not possible to neutralise particularly high values of individual substances using the reverse
It is not possible to neutralise particularly high values of individual substances using the reverse
osmosis. For example, a high level of silicic acid or nitrate.
By installing a 4th step in the form of the FilterMaster Ultrapure Resin end filter (optional
accessory), even the smallest residues of silicates and nitrates can be removed completely.
