Cleaning and routine maintenance
During normal operation, these procedures are carried out by the vehicle's driver or technical manager.
The device must be checked, at least when the vehicle undergoes MOT testing, to ensure that it is intact
and operating correctly. Proceed as follows:
- Make a visual inspection of the device from inside the compartment ventilated, and of its outside
parts. Remove any obstructions from the Extractor Fan inlet;
- Check that the moving parts (fan and fins) are in good working order and able to move freely;
- Check for dust or dirt inside the Extractor Fan or on its surfaces, and clean if required.
The outside and inside surfaces can be cleaned with an ordinary damp cloth.
The user is prohibited from performing any procedures other than driving and routine maintenance.
atteNtioN
DO NOT pour water on the Extractor Fan's electrical parts.
7.2
Unplanned maintenance
Unplanned maintenance operations are those carried out following a breakdown or malfunction, which
may involve partial dismantling of the components or also the removal of safety guards.
Unplanned maintenance and dismantling, installation and repair of the device must only be performed by
the professional staff referred to in point 5, designated by the vehicle's supplier.
All work on the motor unit is prohibited; it may only be returned directly to the manufacturer for repair,
or replaced with the corresponding spare.
The body of the fan must not be accessed from the outside (the roof of the vehicle) unless it is in safe
stopped conditions.
"Safe stopped" condition is:
- fan stopped and not jammed by dirt or other obstructions;
- fan stopped with power supply disconnected in the event of suspicion or certainty that the fan has
been blocked by dirt or other obstructions.
