INSTALLATION
5.2
Connections
atteNtioN
Electrical connections to the Extractor Fan must only be made by skilled specifically trained
staff.
5.2.1
electrical connection
The device's type must be suitable for the battery voltage of the vehicle's system (12V or 24V) as speci-
fied in point 3.2. The pack is labelled with the device voltage. The electrical connections must be made
first between the fan-unit and the wiring with fuse, and then between the wiring and the vehicle's battery
circuit.
Proceed as follows:
- Use single-core insulated, braided copper cables;
- The cables must be secured to fixed parts with ties or equivalent durable fixtures;
- The use of insulating/adhesive tape for insulation or mechanical fixing is prohibited. The use of
brazing or soldering, even as a secondary measure, is prohibited. Special crimping pliers must be
used (ordinary pliers are not suitable).
The battery circuit connection must be protected against current surges using a fuse with In=10A (power
supply 12 V) or In=8A (power supply 24 V), on the system side upstream of the fan unit connection.
Depending on the power drawdown (see data in point 3.2), the installer may decide to use a circuit with
these characteristics already available in the system.
important
After wiring, check that the unit operates correctly (as described in point 6.1), and in particular the air
flow direction.
