• Position belt over belt pulley on the new agitator.
• Reinstall agitator and lower plate.
Cleaning Exterior and Tools
• Clean exterior using a clean, soft cloth that has been dipped in a solution of mild liquid detergent and water and wrung dry.
• DO NOT drip water on vacuum cleaner
• Wipe dry after cleaning.
• DO NOT clean tools in dishwasher or clothes washer.
• Wash tools in warm soapy water, rinse and air-dry.
• DO NOT use tools if they are wet.
Removing Clogs
The hose located on the back of the vacuum cleaner carries the dirt from
the nozzle up to the dust bag. If the hose should become clogged:
• Return the vacuum cleaner to the upright position before plugging into an electrical outlet.
Troubleshooting
WARNING : Electrical Shock or Personal Injury Hazard. Disconnect the electrical supply before servicing
or cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or personal injury from
vacuum cleaner suddenly starting.
1. Unplugged at wall outlet.
2. ON-OFF switch not turned on.
3. Thermal protector tripped.
4. Tripped circuit breaker/blown fuse at household service
panel.
5. Defective wall outlet.

• Unplug vacuum cleaner.
• Pull open suction inlet cover and check for clogging.
• Disconnect wand from short hose and check wand and hose.
• Plug in vacuum cleaner and turn on.
• Disconnect wand and stretch hose in and out to remove clog.
• Turn off and unplug the vacuum cleaner.
• Remove lower plate (page 44).
• Inspect inlet of nozzle hose and clear any obstructions.
• Reinstall lower plate (page 44).
Vacuum cleaner will not run.
CAUSE
PROBLEM :
1. Plug in firmly. Push ON-OFF
2. Push ON-OFF switch to ON.
3. Allow to cool 50 minutes and thermal protector will reset
itself.
4. Reset circuit breaker or replace fuse.
5. Check with a good appliance or lamp. Have outlet properly
serviced.
