Getting started

Switching-on and heating-up the machine
1. Plug the machine in to the mains. To do this, the coffee grounds
drawer must first be removed.
2. The display will show the message COLD PLEASE WAIT.
3. The coffee machine is heating-up and no products can be dis-
pensed yet.
4. Once the message READY appears, coffee can be served.
Depending on the configuration during the launch additional mes-
sages are inserted.
• If the message PLEASE RINSE MACHINE appears, press the
CLEANING KEY and the automatic rinsing begins. After success-
ful cleaning, the machine will return to operational mode and the
display will show READY.
• If the message TEA BOILER NOT READY appears, the tea/steam
boiler has not yet reached its operating temperature. Water for
tea and milk/mixed products cannot be served.
How to use the S400
Selecting the product level
Press the SWITCH KEY (01) to switch between the two product levels.
The LED beside the product keys changes between white and yellow.
The white display indicates that the machine is ready to dispense pro-
ducts 1-10 (first product level); the yellow display refers to products
11- 20 (second product level).
