before first use

Before using the appliance for the first time, you should proceed as follows: carefully unpack the hob and remove all
packaging material and any promotional stickers. Keep the packaging (plastic bags and cardboard) out of the reach of
children. After unpacking the appliance, check it for external damage that may have occurred during transport. Clean the
glass plate with a slightly damp cloth. Check that the voltage corresponds with what is stated on the information plate. For
the installation of the hob you must observe the instructions in section 7.

SWITCHING ON
Turn the control knob to the required setting. The hob indicator light comes on.
It takes approximately 10 minutes for the cooking zone to reach maximum temperature (on the maximum setting of the
thermostat knob).
Do not touch the hob when it is switched on.

SWITCHING OFF

Turn the control knob to the [0] setting to switch off the hob. To conserve energy, you can just switch off the cooking zone
when you have almost finished cooking. The cooking zone stays hot for a long time afterwards.
Please note that the cooking zones do not cool down immediately after being switched off.

pans

• Use pans with a thick, flat bottom with the same diameter as a cooking zone. This reduces cooking time.
• A pan should always be placed in the centre of a cooking zone.
• When cooking in ovenproof or heat-resistant glass or porcelain dishes, observe the manufacturer's instructions.
• Dry the bottom of the pan completely before you place it on the hob so that the heat is properly conducted and the
cooking zone is not damaged.

ENERGY SAVING

• The diameter of the bottom of the frying and cooking pans must match the diameter of the cooking zone. If the pan is too
small, there will be heat loss and the cooking zone can be damaged.
• Always use a lid on the pan to reduce cooking time.
• Choose a pan of the right size to suit the amount of food you want to cook. Small amounts in large pans mean energy will
be wasted.
• Reduce the power when the liquid is boiling.
• Do not use too much moisture or fat. Cooking or frying takes longer if you use too much.
• Select the correct power for the different cooking possibilities.
