Deactivating the alarm
Press TEMP and hold it down. In a
moment or two the display will show the
set temperature. To deactivate the alarm,
release the key as soon as the setting
appears.
Emergency
programme
If the sensor fails, an emergency program-
me takes over the temperature control until
the installer/service technician arrives.
Short-lived tempera-
ture variations
Short-lived temperature variations are
normal. They occur when:
- the freezer is filled with fresh items,
- the door is left open longer than usual.
Some of the lamps on the temperature
scale will light up when the temperature
deviates. Such deviations do not affect
stored items of food and the temperature
quickly returns to normal.
Freezing elements
At the top of FSL and FSLD freezers there
are two freezing elements.
These retain the cold and help keep power
consumption down. The elements can be
taken out and used in the picnic box on
warm summer days.
Freezing compartment
The whole cabinet can be used for
freezing down and for the long-term
storage of frozen goods. The front of the
upper freezer shelf has a tilting grid that
enables items to be stacked right up to the
edge. The grid must be lifted up before it
can be tilted down.

Interrupting the
freezer for cleaning/-
defrosting
Press the "TEMP" key, as described
under "Changing the temperature" and
release it at the moment all lamps go out.
You have now stopped the freezing
function and the cabinet can now be
cleaned. The actual temperature can still
be read for the next two hours, after which
this function automatically stops.
Start the freezer again by setting the
temperature. (See "Changing the tempera-
ture").
Restart the freezer by setting a tempera-
ture (see "Changing the temperature"). Up
to 15 minutes can elapse before the com-
pressor starts running again.
Defrosting
Frost should be removed when it becomes
more than 1/2 cm thick. Never use a sharp
or pointed object that might damage the
freezer. The cabinet should be completely
defrosted about twice a year.
Procedure:
Interrupt freezing as described under
"Interrupting the freezer for cleaning/
7
defrosting" or switch off the freezer at the
wall socket/main switch. Place a bowl of
hot water in the cabinet, close the door
and wait half an hour.
Pull out the defrost water drain
place a bowl under it to collect the defrost
water. Melt water in the bottom of the
freezer will now run out and the freezer can
be cleaned.
Cleaning
The freezer is best cleaned with a weak
soap solution (max. 85°C). Never use cle-
