Information on the
selector switch
Setting the selector switch incorrectly can have the following effects:

The charger displays false test results
-
The battery does not charge fully
-
The charger switches to error
Set the selector switch A/B to the correct position:
-
according to battery type
(A = wet-cell or B = gel-battery)
Connecting up
the battery
Variant: Charging cable with charging clips
1. Plug the charging cable into the connection jack on the charger
2. Connect charging clip
3. Connect charging clip
connected to a vehicle electrical network - to the bodywork or engine block.
Variant: Charging cable with system plug
1. Plug the charging cable into the connection jack on the charger
2. Insert the system plug (as supplied) into the appropriate socket on your (vehicle) electrical
network ensuring correct polarity.
To disconnect the charger from the battery, proceed as follows:

Variant: Charging cable with charging clips
1. Unplug the charger from the mains
2. Remove charging clip
3. Remove charging clip
Variant: Charging cable with system plug
1. Unplug the charger from the mains
2. Remove the system plug (as supplied) from the socket on your (vehicle) electrical
network.

Test mode

General remarks
Do not connect the charger to the mains supply during testing. In all tests, the charger
draws its supply from the battery being tested.

NOTE! An incorrectly set selector switch can lead to poor results. Set selector
switch according to the type of battery used and/or battery voltage.
WARNING! Risk of explosion from short circuits and arcs. Before connecting
to/disconnecting from battery, disconnect charger from mains supply. During
operation, check that charging terminals and battery poles are properly con-
nected.

WARNING! Risk of injury and damage from exposed, rotating vehicle parts.
When working in the vehicle's engine compartment, take care that hands, hair,
items of clothing and charger leads do not come into contact with moving parts,
e.g. fan belt, fan, etc.
