12. Range
The transmission range of the radio signals between outdoor and mobile units is up to 200 m under optimum
conditions.
However, the range values refer to the so-called „free field range". However, this ideal arrange-
ment (e.g. outdoor unit and mobile unit on a plain, even meadow without trees, houses, etc.) is,
however, never possible in practice.
Usually, the outdoor unit is installed next to the entrance door and the mobile unit is operated
inside the building.
Due to the different influences on radio transmission, no specific range can be guaranteed, un-
fortunately.
Usually, however, operation in a family home is possible without any problems.
The range may be considerably reduced by:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated/metallised insulated glass, aluminium windows, etc.
• Trees, shrubbery, earth, rocks
• Proximity to metal & conductive objects (e.g. heaters, steel doors)
• Proximity to the human body
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (router, WLAN devices, mobile phones, radio head-
phones, etc.)
• Proximity to electrical motors, transformers, mains adapters, screens
• Proximity to mains sockets, mains cables
• Proximity to badly shielded or openly operated computers or other electrical devices
13. Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free for you. Servicing or repair must only be carried out by a specialist or
specialist workshop. There are no components in the product that need to be serviced by you.
A dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient for cleaning the outside.
Clean the surfaces of the mobile unit and outdoor unit very carefully in order not to scratch them. Do not
press on the display too hard!
Dust can easily be removed with a long-hair, soft and clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions, since these may
damage the casing or even impair function.
