Inserting/Removing the Drive

Preparations
Windows Vista
A Click
(Start) - [Control Panel] - [System and Maintenance] - [System] - [Device
Manager].
A standard user needs to enter an administrator password.

Click [View] - [Devices by connection] - [ACPIx86-based PC] - [Microsoft ACPI-
Compliant System] - [PCIbus] - [Intel(R)82801G(ICH7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage
Controllers - 27DF] or [Intel(R) ICH8M Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 2850], dou-
ble-click [ATA channel 0], and click [Advanced Settings].

Click [View] - [Devices by connection] - [ACPIx86-based PC] - [Microsoft ACPI-
Compliant System] - [PCIbus] - [Intel(R) ICH9 Family PCI Express Root Port2 -
2942]- [Standard Dual Cannel PCI IDE Controller], double-click [ATA channel 0], and
click [Advanced Settings].
C Confi rm that the check mark has been added for [Enabled DMA]. If it has not, add the
check mark.
Windows XP
Confi rm that [Transfer Mode] is set to [DMA if available] in [start] - [Control Panel] -
[Performance and Maintenance] - [System] - [Hardware] - [Device Manager] - [IDE ATA/
ATAPI controllers] - [Primary IDE Channel] - [Advanced Settings] - [Device 0]. Perform
this setting if it has not yet been made.
Setting a Disc

Turn on the computer.

Slide the latch (A) and open the cover.

Press the eject button (B) and slowly
pull out the tray.
