2.3.2 Parameterisation

The parameterisation is done with the Becker-Software VAKombi Tool
by means of a Windows PC. With the Becker-Software the required
parameters can be set comfortably. For the parameterisation an inter-
face converter RS 232 /RS 485 is necessary. This interface is also
available at Gebrüder Becker. For the connection of the interface
converter see also the example in Chapter 3.5.3.
There are the following adjustable parameters:
Frequency in case of potentiometer adjuster at right stop
Frequency which results in case of an adjuster position at the right
stop of the installed potentiometer or in case of 0 V control voltage
at the analogue input.
Frequency in case of potentiometer adjuster at left stop
Frequency which results in case an adjuster position at the left stop
of the installed potentiometer or in case of 10 V control voltage at the
analogue input.
Pressure in case of potentiometer adjuster at right stop
Pressure set-point which results in case of an adjuster position at
the right stop of the installed potentiometer or in case of 0 V control
voltage at the analogue input. Only applicable in case of using the

control without sensor.

Pressure in case of potentiometer adjuster at left stop
Pressure set-point which results in case of an adjuster position at
the left stop of the installed potentiometer or in case of 10 V control
voltage at the analogue input. Only applicable in case of using the
control without sensor.
Activation of pull-out protection
Maximum constant output current (upper limit)
If this value is exceeded, the converter automatically reduces the
speed.
This value must not be set above the value pre-set by the manufactu-
rer.
Deactivation of pull-out protection
Maximum constant output current (lower limit)
If the converter decreased the speed due to exceeding the maximum
value and the output current goes below the value set here, the speed
is automatically increased (until the actual speed reaches the set-point
or the upper limit).
Increasing ramp
The speed of the increase in frequency when the set-point is modified.
Decreasing ramp
The speed of the decrease in frequency when the set-point is modi-
fied.
USS address
Identifier (1 to 31) under which the converter can be addressed when
integrated in a field bus structure (see 2.3.3).
KR parameter PID controller = amplification, proportional control part
TI parameter PID controller = integral action time, integral control part
TV parameter PID controller = rate time, derivative control part

2.3.3 Field bus connection

On the basis of the RS 485 interface the set-up of a field bus topology
is possible.
The converter can only be used as slave, the control unit is used
as master. As a maximum 1 master and 30 slaves are possible. The
identification of the slaves is effected through the parameter USS
address.
The transmission rate is
· 9,600 Baud for converter FU SW 2.18
· 9,600 /19,200 /38,400 /57,600 Baud for converter FU SW2.19
adjustable by parameter
The modification of the Baud rate can be done by the Service depart-
ment of Gebrüder Becker. The description of the listing can be ordered
separately from Gebrüder Becker. It contains all control commands
and a list of the parameters.
3. Electrical installation
The converter connected to the power supply carries dangerous
voltages. The power supply must be cut off during any type
of work.
Disregard for the rules can cause grave or fatal injuries or
property damage.
Installation
The installation may only be carried out by qualified staff
according to VDE. The general and regionally applicable
regulations (e. g. VDE) have to be observed.
Opening of the terminal box
After cutting off the power supply the capacitors might carry
dangerous voltage for some time. Before opening the termi-
nal box a discharge time of 5 minutes has to be observed.
(see figure (1)
After removing the 4 recessed head screws the terminal cover can be
lifted. Now the electrical connections are accessible.
