Screw the side grip on the tool securely.
Installing or removing abrasive disc
(Fig. 3)
Mount the pad onto the spindle. Fit the abrasive disc and
countersunk washer on the pad and screw the clamp
screw clockwise into the spindle.
To tighten the clamp screw, grip the edge of the pad with
your hand, then tighten the screw clockwise with a hex
wrench securely. (Fig. 4)
To remove the disc, follow the installation procedure in
reverse.
OPERATION
Sanding operation (Fig. 5)
CAUTION:
• Always wear safety goggles or a face shield during
operation.
• Never run the tool without the abrasive disc. You may
seriously damage the pad.
• Always use the side grip (auxiliary handle) and firmly
hold the tool by both side grip and switch handle during
operations.
Hold the tool firmly. Turn the tool on and then apply the
abrasive disc to the workpiece. In general, keep the
abrasive disc at an angle of about 15 degrees to the
workpiece surface. Apply slight pressure only. Excessive
pressure will result in poor performance and premature
wear to abrasive disc.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and
unplugged before attempting to perform inspection or
maintenance.
• Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or the
like. Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result.
To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs,
any other maintenance or adjustment should be
performed by Makita Authorized Service Centers, always
using Makita replacement parts.
