2. Introduction

What is cellulite?
Many women have cellulite, which is also known as orange peel skin. Estro-
gen, the female sex hormone is to blame. It is primarily responsible for orange
peel skin with its dimpling and bumps on the bottom and thighs. Cellulite is not
an illness and it is normally not painful. Cellulite is a purely cosmetic problem.
What causes cellulite?
Humans have lobules in their subcutaneous skin that are separated from one
another by septae.
In women, the septae run perpendicular to the surface of the skin. This means
that women have softer and more flexible skin than men. The disadvantage
of this is that women's softer skin provides less resistance to the pressure of
the fatty tissue below. The subcutaneous fat therefore penetrates into the top
layers of skin more easily and makes the skin bulge out visibly.
How does the Cellulite ReleaZer work?
The Cellulite ReleaZer uses vibration to increase microcirculation in the tissue.
