the setting DISABLED, the connection will only be authorised using the SIM card operator's network that you
are using. If you choose the setting ENABLED a ROAMING connection will be authorised using any available
operator. The ROAMING connection follows the standard protocol for normal mobile phone devices. Receivers
that are configured to use the SIM VODAFONE-CARDIN will not allow you to change thus setting which will
remain ENABLED.

a few minutes to establish a connection. If the receiver does not connect within the required amount of
time it will automatically restart the modem and start the procedure over again.
ACTIVATING CHANNELS VIA SMS (only with a 2G/3G card)
This function allows you to activate receiver channels, in all the available combinations and receive channel
and auxiliary input status information by sending SMS, messages.
The SMS messages can be sent from any device but will only be accepted if the devices transmit a valid
Remote Activation Code (CAR) which corresponds to the receiver to which the message is being sent. The
CAR is a number that can be modified at will from within the series 0-4'294'967'294, which makes up the
password for the receiver to accept this particular function.
Modifying the CAR code initially set to '0' by default, can also be carried out via SMS but only if the senders
number is in the SIM telephone address book.
To use commands via SMS you must have the CAR code as well as the telephone number of the SIM. You
are advised to set a personalised CAR code as soon as possible.
The receiver usually carries out the requested operation immediately with the sole exception of when it is
connecting. The answer will be sent after the set time period of 10 seconds (20 seconds on request) has
elapsed from the moment the request was received.
The answer time will be increased by the time required by the telephone operator to forward the message.
• The SMS must respect the following format:
- Messages without the correct format will be ignored.
- No distinction is made between upper case and lower case letters.
- The message must include the CAR code immediately preceded by the hash symbol #.
- The new code to be given to the CAR must be preceded by the asterisk symbol *.
• The channels are specified within the message using the identification letters: A, B, C, D. Channel com-
mands can be sent in three different ways:
- NORMAL: only specifying the letter. The command will be executed as if it came from a radio control
transmitter;
- ACTIVATE: specifying a letter followed by '1' will force the status to ACTIVATE;
- DEACTIVATE: specifying a letter followed by '0' will force the status to INACTIVE.
