6 Description and function

6.1 Description

The tank made of PE-HWU, in either the round or
the rectangular version, is used for the indirect
connection of a pressure boosting system to the
public potable water network. Depending on type
and size, the tank is equipped with one or more
inlet connections. In the case of all round GII and
FLA tanks (as well as with rectangular GIII tanks)
up to the 1000 litre size, and in the case of all rec-
tangular FLA tanks, the inlet connections are each
designed as through bore-holes (1) on the longi-
tudinal side for the attachment of a float valve
(Fig. 3-(16)). In the case of type GIII tanks in the
1500 to 3000-litre range, the main inlet is
designed to be on the cover in the form of a block
flange (2). This is used for connecting the outlet
line of a diaphragm valve (Fig. 4). In order to con-
trol the diaphragm valve according to the fill level
of the tank, a pilot float valve is to be mounted on
the longitudinal side in the drilled hole (1) pro-
vided for this purpose and connected with the
diaphragm valve by means of a control line (Fig. 4-
(24)).
