ABOUT ACNE

Acne starts with the buildup of oil under
the skin, which causes a type of bacteria
called P. acnes to multiply. Pores become
clogged with this bacteria, excess oil, and
dead skin cells, and the skin becomes
inflamed. The result is acne blemishes,
such as pimples and pustules. Blue light
treats acne blemishes by killing the
bacteria that cause them.

There are several kinds of acne.
Comedonal acne consists of whiteheads
and blackheads. Mild or moderate acne
involves red and sensitive pimples and
pustules. Nodules and cysts are signs of
more severe acne. Positively Clear Acne
Clearing Blue Light is intended only for
mild or moderate acne (pimples and
pustules).
