Installation and maintenance instructions
BEFORE ANY INSTALLATION OPERATION, PLEASE READ FIRST PART OF THIS DOCUMENT:
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please refer to the installation and maintenance instructions, and to technical data written on the steam trap's cartridge. Check
that the device is adapted to the application.
After receipt, make a visual inspection and check for possible damage that might occur during transit.
It is recommended to install isolating valves upstream and downstream if the steam trap is connected to a
condensate collection line.
Check that the steam trap must be mounted in the adequate position.
The steam trap can be mounted in all positions. However, the horizontal position with head upward is preferred.
Ensure that a safety device is present in the connected loop to avoid any overpressure.
Remove protection plugs from the steam trap before installing.
The pipes should be mounted so as not to create mechanical stress on the device (pulling, pushing, torqueing...) including those
resulting from expansion or defective or inadequate support.
It is recommended to install a filter upstream the steam trap (min. filtration 0.8 mm).
The steam trap must not be insulated.
Before installing, ensure that the line is clean.
Install the steam trap in a place easily accessible for maintenance.
In case of socket welding, although the steam trap is designed to be welded without dismounting the cartridge, it is better not to
inflict excessive temperatures to the steam trap.
Note: In case of drain to atmosphere, ensure that the condensate could not cause burns, by directing the condensates so that
they cannot accidentally burn an operator.
To offer a maximum efficiency in case of use for draining little process:
The steam trap should be installed at a variable distance from the device to drain. This distance is to evaluate as below:
100 % of drain capability: min. 1 m from the non-insulated pipe
50 % of drain capability: min. 30 cm from the non-insulated pipe
Less of 30 % of drain capability: min. 10 cm from the non-insulated pipe
Condensate quality:

Sous réserve de modifications
To obtain the maximum lifetime, the condensate must be clean and should have a pH
between 5 and 10.
