5. Apply grease to the stamped face of the key
retaining locking cam. Holding shackle closed,
(making sure locking ball bearings stay in side
pockets) use small pliers and insert key retaining
locking cam into lock body. (Figure 5)
Note: Insert with slots down and flat side of key
retaining locking cam step facing away from
drain hole.

6. Place throw member (as shown) and steel
retainer plate onto installation tool. (Figure 6)
Note: Make sure that letters on steel retainer
plate are face down.

7. Hold installation tool as shown. Drop lock over
installation tool and insert into center hole of
lock body. (Figure 7)
Note: Alignment tab must be positioned as
shown.

8. Turn lock over and lift installation tool until
alignment tab clears lock. Turn installation tool
clockwise to unlock shackle. (Figure 8)

9. Remove installation tool and place in opposite
side of lock body so the alignment tab falls into
place. This will hold throw member and steel
retainer plate in place. Hold installation tool in
place and turn lock over. (Figure 9)

10. Move shackle to one side. Insert steel retain-
er plate screw in shackle hole and tighten with a
#2 Phillips Screwdriver. (Figure 10)

11. Remove installation tool and re-insert into
center cylinder hole. Alignment tab must be
facing back of lock. Holding shackle closed,
turn installation tool counter-clockwise until tab
falls in place between cylinder holes. Remove
installation tool. (Figure 11)

12. Insert and lock cylinder in place with control
key, then remove control key. (Figure 12)

13. Slide bumper onto bottom of lock body.
(Figure 13) Lock is now assembled.

Check Function: Turn key 45 degrees clockwise
to open. While holding shackle closed, turn key
counter-clockwise to lock.
Note: If lock is assembled correctly the key
cannot be removed unless shackle is closed.

and key control procedures.
Cylinders can be rekeyed using existing Schlage
cylinder components and/or pin kits.
