General information
This product must be installed, adjusted and started only by a qualified and licensed technician and
done so in accordance with all appropriate local and national codes and ordinances.
CAUTION: Different aspects of the oil fired heating system can be affected by the use of a fuel/
biofuel blend (storage, piping system between the tank and the burner, burner components).
Ensure that all components of the heating system, supply line and burner components are biofuel
compatible. Before first start-up, ensure that the oil storage tank has been thoroughly cleaned prior
to the biofuel blend delivery.
Biofuel blends are likely to have reduced long-term storage stability performance. Aging and
oxidation can lead to high acid numbers, high viscosity, and the formation of gums and sediments
that may cause filter clogging.
Installation
Pump may be mounted in any position except shaft upwards, but the shaft should not be submitted
to any axial or radial force.
The maximum inlet and return pressures must not exceed the following values, this can affect pump
tightness, in particular seal damage can result :
• J : 1,5 bars / 10 PSI (NFPA31 further limits them to 3 PSI max)
• E : 3,5 bars
The maximum vacuum must not be more than 0,45 bars to prevent air separation from the oil.
Most model have a pressure regulating valve with cut-off function. Models without cut-off (J1002/
J1003/E1069 ) require an external shutoff valve.
Lines must be airtight for proper operation. The pump is intended to be used with cylindrical or
conical fittings and sealing washers, other sealants are not recommended. DO NOT USE TEFLON TAPE
OR COMPRESSION FITTINGS.
It is recommended to use a separate filter upstream of the pump.
WARNING: Check Valves with Fuel Oil Heating Equipment
Do not use a check valve in the inlet line of a 1-pipe system (with or w/o a boost pump), or in the
