Introduction
We are pleased with your decision to purchase a hotty wax heating unit.
Please observe the following information in order to ensure long and trouble-free service.
2
Application Area
The hotty is an electronically regulated wax dipping pot. It is ideally suited for thermal processing with all
conventional dipping waxes.
The following special characteristics make the quality of the hotty apparent to you during operation:
On the one hand, the precise temperature regulation (+ / - 2 °C [3.6 °F]) ensures a uniformly high qua-
lity copings and, on the other, working together with the heater that reacts optimally to the temperature
conditions, prevents an overheating of the wax and resultant damage.
Please note that the warm-up phase is intended to be gentle on the wax. It therefore may take some time
before the wax is completely liquefied. The continuous increase of the operating temperature pre-
vents the temperature in the wax pot from exceeding the desired setpoint. The quality of the wax is thus
maintained.
The hotty offers you optimal working conditions. For example, the housing is constructed so that both
left- and right-handed individuals can rest their hands on the work while working at the unit. In addition,
the dipping pot cover can be swiveled completely out of work area.
2.1
Ambient Conditions
(in accordance with IEC 60664-1)
The hotty may only be operated:
• Indoors;
• Up to an altitude of 2,000 m (6,500 ft) above sea level;
• At an ambient temperature of 5 – 40 °C [41 – 104 °F];
• At a maximum relative humidity of 80 % at 31 °C [87.8 °F], decreasing linearly to 50 % relative humidity
at 40 °C [104 °F];
• With a main power supply where current fluctuations do not exceed 10 % of the nominal value;
• At pollution degree 2;
• Over voltage category II.

Safety Information
► Before starting the unit, compare the information on the nameplate with the specifications of your
local power supply.
► Units with damaged power cords or other defects may not be operated.
► During operation, always unroll the power cord (D) (overheating hazard in case of a short circuit).
► It is the responsibility of the operator that national regulations during operation and regarding a
repeated safety inspection of electrical equipment are complied with. For Germany these are the
regulation 3 by DGUV (German Statutory Accident Insurance) in relation with VDE 0701-0702 (As-
sociation for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technology).
► Liquid waxes can cause burns. Do not move the unit when in use!
► During operation, the wax pot (E) is heated up to its rims. Improper use or handling can result in
burns even approx. within 30 minutes after power off.
► The hotty is designed to be used exclusively in conjunction with commercially available dental
waxes. Never use the unit to heat other types of materials!
► Please note: Overfilled pots can overflow!
► Materials whose flash point is under 175 °C [347 °F] may not be stored in proximity to the hotty or
come in contact with the hotty.
► Do not rinse or dip into water. Hazardous voltage can cause electric shock!
► Information on REACH and SVHC is available on our website www.renfert.com, in the Support
area.
