PRODUCT INFORMATION MCE 86 II

phone. Please take some time to read carefully through this
product information before setting up the equipment.
Applications
The MCE 86 II is extremely versatile and lightweight shot-
gun microphones for camera or camcorder mounting. They can
be used for outdoor applications and in studios with fishpole
booms or as handhelds.

Description
The microphone's condenser element and hypercardioid/
lobe polar pattern provide high sensitivity, excellent off-axis
rejection and accurate reproduction of any sound source. Its
rugged design and built-in filter make it insensitive to wind
and vibrations.
Weighing 90 g, the MCE 86 II is one of the lightest shotgun
microphones available. MCE 86 S II (125 g) does not disturb
camera handling either. The rugged design and non-glare finish
provide protection against the rigors of on-location production.
Powering
The MCE 86 II can be powered with any phantom power
source supplying 11 to 52 V. If no phantom power source is
available, the battery/phantom powered version MCE 86 S II
can be used.
Setting up
The balanced output of the MCE 86 II versions allow the
use of long cables.
The battery powered MCE 86 S II version has a switch and an LED
indicating the battery state. The life of a battery is around 80
hours.

When using a battery keep the microphone switch in the "On"
position and not in the "B.C." (Battery Check) position. The
microphone is working, but the power consumption is
increased and feedback can occur.
