Grill stone
∙ Before use, fi t the stone on the
appliance with the smooth side facing
up. Caution: Avoid placing a cold
stone onto a hot element.
∙ The stone can be used for cooking
vegetables, sliced meat or fi sh etc. as
required.
∙ This stone is entirely natural material.
Small cracks resulting from natural
expansion and contraction during
heating and cooling, as well as a change
to a darker colour are normal and have
no detrimental effects.
∙ Do not place any frozen food or items
containing vinegar (such as pickled
gherkins or mustard) on the stone.
Variable thermostat and indicator light
∙ If the thermostat control is set all the way
to the right, the heating element remains
on. But if the thermostat is moved to the
left, the element will switch off and on
alternately.
∙ The red indicator light remains lit as long
as the heating element is on.
∙ After use, return the thermostat to its
lowest setting and unplug the appliance
from the mains supply.
Operation
Hint: For the very best results, meat
should be taken from the refrigerator
about half an hour before grilling,
covered and left to stand.
∙ Place the stone on the appliance with
the smooth side facing up.
∙ Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket
and turn the thermostat all the way to
the right.
∙ Let the appliance preheat for about
25 minutes to reach the required
temperature.
∙ Place the food to be cooked on the
stone, as required.
∙ Put the raclette cheese into the
mini-pans. Place the mini-pans in the
appliance, under the heating element,
and leave them until the cheese has
melted.
∙ Use the wooden spatulas to take the
food from the mini-pans.
∙ Warning: Do not place empty mini-pans
in the appliance while it is switched on.
∙ When cooking is fi nished, turn the
thermostat all the way to the left and
unplug the appliance from the mains.
How to prepare raclette cheese
Use about 200 to 300 grammes of cheese
per person. Cut the cheese into slices of
about 3 to 5 mm thickness and put them
into the mini-pans. It is preferable to use
original raclette cheese. Any other fast
melting cheese, however, is also suitable.
