8 Fitting Advice

8.1

Changing the Spring

To change the spring:
Fully unscrew the adjuster and remove the
spring. Insert the appropriate spring and screw
the adjuster back in with 1.5 mm showing.
The adjuster can then be used to adjust
the pre-load on the spring to suit the user's
individual requirements.

Static Alignment

Build Line
Construct the socket to fully accommodate
alignment of residuum so that the Build Line
passes through the attachment point.
The Build Line should fall in the middle of the
slot on top of the Child's Knee, 12 mm anterior
of upper front pivot.
Before walking stand the wearer in suitable
walking rails to confirm alignment before
progressing to dynamic alignment.
7.2

Dynamic Alignment

Adjust the Extension Assist
The adjuster can be used to customize the
pre-load on the spring to suit the user's
requirement. Undo the adjuster to reduce the
assistance up to a maximum of 8 mm.
If satisfactory swing control cannot be
achieved with the spring supplied. Fit one of
the alternatives supplied with the kit.
