Additional Components

Follow the alignment instructions that are
supplied with any additional components.
7.2

Static Alignment

With the flexion accommodated the build line
should pass through the center of the socket in
the sagittal (A–P) plane and through the center of
Multiflex Pyramid Ankle. Heel height of the shoe
should be accommodated and adjusted at the
serrated interface.
7.3

Dynamic Alignment

Coronal Plane
Ensure that M–L thrust is minimal by adjusting
relative positions of the socket and foot.
Sagittal Plane
Check for smooth transition from heel strike to
toe-off. Ensure that when standing the heel and
toe are evenly loaded and that both are touching
the floor.
Check that the serrations are engaged
before tightening the foot bolt.
Incorrectly engaged serrations can lead
to noise and result in sudden loosening
of the foot. Confirm correct
engagement of serrations by slackening foot
bolt 1/8 turn. Foot should be loose but not
rotate, then tighten to correct torque.
Important: ensure the device is orientated
correctly with the clamping screw positioned
posterior.
