3) INSTALLATION
Before proceeding to installation, check balancing and sliding of the door. Check the condition of the ropes, the springs and any safety systems (para-
chute safety device, etc.).
If the doors were not installed recently, also check the other parts subject to wear. The above is decisive for system safety and reliability of the operator.
In any case, comply with the maintenance plan outlined by the manufacturer of the manual door.
The JACK gearmotors can be installed on the wall on the right or left of the door and were designed to directly activate the rope winding shaft of the door
which must have a diameter of 1" (25.4mm*) and be equipped with a tab compartment.
ATTENTION! It is fundamental to install the JACK gearmotor with the door closed for correct alignment of the electronic limit switches. There-
fore, ensure the door is in the completely closed position before proceeding to installation.
NB: The motor is supplied by 2 different tables, use the one suitable for the type of door shaft. The types of shaft for sectional doors and relevant tabs
EN
are indicated in Fig. 7-C.
To fasten the gearmotor, proceed as follows:
• Check the distance between the rope winding shaft A and the fastening surface is compatible with the dimensions in Figure 1
• Insert the gearmotor in the rope winding shaft (Figure 3).
• Fasten the anti-rotation shaft S to the gearmotor using the locking nut D (Figure 3).
• Weld or screw in bracket S to the surface.
Motor shaft alignment with door shaft procedure:
JACK is equipped with an electronic limit switch (absolute encoder). Therefore, during the installation phase, it is important to follow the procedure indi-
cated below to obtain alignment of the motor shaft with the door shaft:
1. Power the control unit. Immediately after switch-on, the control unit will display the firmware version and then the display switches off.
2. Keeping the + and - buttons pressed of the control unit, the motor shaft can be rotated clockwise or anti-clockwise to align it with that of the door.
During rotation of the motor shaft, the display shows a default positioning measurement to the value 10*(10% of the maximum stroke), which is increased
or decreased with rotation of the motor shaft. you must match groove F of the motor shaft (Fig. 7-A) with that of the door shaft (Fig. 7-B).
*ATTENTION! If the gearmotor is not found in the default position (value 10), before proceeding with point 2, you must rotate the motor shaft using
the + o - buttons to bring it back to the default position.
3. Once alignment has terminated of the motor shaft with that of the door, proceed to insert tab K, as indicated in Figure 7-C.
4. Having concluded alignment, follow the autoset procedure as in paragraph 9.7.
4) INSTALLATION DIAGRAM
Figure 6 shows a complete system:
1) Gearmotor with control unit incorporated, JACK series
2) Flashing IRI.LAMP
4) Keypad IPB.NO/IPB.NC
5) Digital keypad IRI.KPAD
6) Passive rubber edge
5) WIRING
To access the control unit, remove screw V indicated in Figure 4 and open the transparent casing. Once open, the casing remains blocked in the position
to facilitate the connections. To close again, gently press the two coupling hinges.
For passage of the cables, knock out openings are planned to fasten the cable glands PG11 or PG13.5 (Fig. 5).
6) BACK-UP BATTERIES
The control unit has an incorporated battery charger, the JACK.24 CB kit is supplied with two 12V batteries 1.2Ah (Pb) to enter in the specific compartment
as in Fig. 8.
Remove the two V screws and remove all the coverage casings, insert the batteries supplied in the kit and fasten them with the specific bracket F.
Connect the batteries to the control unit, opening cover D of the fast-ons as indicated in Fig. 8-C.
If there is no power supply, the back-up batteries allow movement of the door for some consecutive movements.
7) MANUAL EMERGENCY OPERATION
If there is no power supply or a fault, you can release the door to move it manually (Fig. 9).
There are two cords with knobs:
- Pulling the LOCK OPEN cord, the automation unlocks, making it possible to manually close/open the door
- Pulling the LOCK CLOSED cord, automation opens.
IMPORTANT: automation must be well balanced to allow easy manual movement. The installation technician must check the two locking/
unlocking knobs are installed correctly, with reference to the symbols on the motor.
