• Start the tool before applying it against
the workpiece. Otherwise there is a risk of
kickback if the blade jams in the
workpiece.
• Keep the pad in contact with the
workpiece during the work. The blade can
jam and cause kickback.
• After finishing the cut, switch off the tool
and wait until the blade has completely
stopped before pulling out the blade.
This reduces the risk of kickback and
allows you to safely put down the tool.
• Only use undamaged, sharp blades in
perfect condition. Bent or blunt blades
can break, or cause kickback.
• Use a suitable detector to determine if
there are any pipes or cables concealed in
the work area, or contact the local power
company.
• Contact with electric cables can cause fire
and electric shock. Damage to gas
conduits can cause an explosion. A hole in
a water conduit can result in electric shock
and/or material damage.
• Never try to slow the saw blade by
pressing against the side of the saw blade.
This can damage the blade, break it, or
cause kickback.
• Hold the power tool by the insulated grips
when working in areas where it may come
into contact with concealed electrical
cables or its own power cord. Contact with
a live cable will cause the metal parts on
the tool to also become live – risk of
electric shock.
Remaining risks
Even if the appliance is used in accordance with
the instructions it is impossible to rule out all
risk factors. The following are potential risks
associated with the type and design of the
machine.
– Damage to lungs (as a result of
harmful emissions if an effective face
mask is not worn).
– Damage to ears (if effective ear
protection is not worn).
– Vibration injuries (if the machine is
used for long periods, or is not
handled and maintained correctly).
– Cut injuries (contact with
unprotected parts of the blade or
ejected parts of the saw blade after
breakage).
– Shock injuries (kickback or ejected
parts of the workpiece).
