914 In Place Roll Groover

Forming the Roll Groove

NOTE! Pipe thickness must not exceed the diameter
shown in Table II.

olution (Figure 8) .
WARNING
Do not use power actuated devices (drills, power
drives, impact wrenches etc.) to drive the 914
roll groover!
3. Remove ratchet from front socket and insert pipe
into feed screw.

4. Turn ratchet three times or until firm (about one
revolution).
CAUTION
Under tightening, the feed screw could result in
the 914 "walking" off or slipping inside the pipe.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 until groove is complete.
NOTE! A correct groove depth should be achieved by
four to six 914 revolutions. Always check the
groove depth prior to installation.
6. Continue advancing the feed screw until depth ad-
justing ring bottoms out against feed screw housing.
7. Complete one full revolution to ensure a uniform
roll groove.
