For additional information concerning the calculation of
the lubrication interval please see the general installation,
operation, maintenance and safety manual
(ABB/Low Voltage Motors/Manual) delivered with the
machine.
NOTE!
Hot cooling air flows around the bearing at the non-
drive end. If the exhaust air temperature exceeds 75°C
use shorter lubrication intervals, or heat resistant
grease.
When a new machine is running for the first time, excess
lubricant will be pumped out of the bearing.
Roller bearings especially have a strong pumping effect.
The bearing may thus be operating normally even though
a certain amount of grease is coming out during the first
start.
WARNING
The cooling air carries oil and grease droplets,
blowing them out of the machine. Wear eye
protection!

The table values refer to 50 Hz sinusoidal supply
conditions.
For 60 Hz sinusoidal supply, add 4 dB(A) to the above
values.
For approximate sound power level, add 13 dB(A) to
above values.
Designs made for 50 Hz may exceed the limits given in
IEC 34-6 when running at 60 Hz.
