handlebars so that it is in a position conducive to operation in
conjunction with the instruments and the handle (2). Then mark
the position of the cable port. When aligning the switch unit and
marking the drilled hole, proceed meticulously as it cannot be re-
aligned at a later time.
CAUTION!
Risk of short circuit!
• It is best to drill the cable hole with a (separately
available) Rothewald drilling jig with a diameter
of 4 mm, and carefully deburr it with a small
file so that the cable cannot become damaged
when being fed through.

In the clamping area of the handlebars drill a 5 mm hole, facing
downwards, as a cable outlet between its middle and the clamping
brackets, and carefully deburr it (3). The cable can now be routed
through the holes. On high bars the process of routing can be
made easier if you solder a longer thin threading cable to one
wire. Then fasten the switch unit to the handlebars. Tighten the
bolts with a maximum of 5 Nm tightening torque in order to avoid
damaging the switching unit.
