Interface RS485
This serial bus interface allows for transmission of data between devices
in master/slave mode. The interface parameters of all devices connected
to the bus must be compatible. The product operates as a slave via the
MODBUS RTU protocol. The following interface settings cannot be
changed:
• 1 start bit, 8 data bits and 1 stop bit.
Up to 32 physical devices can be networked via an RS485 bus. If the prod-
uct is operated at the end of the RS485 bus, you can activate the inte-
grated terminating resistor of the product. Please refer to the appropriate
literature for details on the RS485 bus. These operating instructions do
not provide a description of the RS485 bus. A suitable MODBUS master
is used to access the parameters and values calculated by the product. If
the adjusted number of decimal places is not modified during operation, it
is sufficient to read out this number once. The register addresses are:
• 40000 for the numeric value (data type: 32 bit integer, LSB first),
• 43104 for the number of decimal places (data type: 16 bit unsigned inte-
ger, LSB first).
The measured value can be calculated as follows:
• Measured value = numerical value / (10 to the power of number of dec-
imal places).
Each modification to a parameter becomes immediately effective.
