Video input management

3.1.1 Automatic sequence cycles

3.1.2 Day and night sequence cycles

3.1.3 Manual selection

The sequence cycles are groups of video inputs which are displayed consecutively, with
order and dwell time defined by the operator. Each sequence cycle consists of a set of 1 to 16
programming steps (each identified by a letter from A to P).
Each step describes :
• the input to display
• the dwell time, before skipping to the next input from 1 to 240 seconds.
There are no limits in the programming of the sequence cycles : an input can be repeated many
times, as per the following table:

For each operator two different sequence cycles can be defined, in order to simplify the system
operation during the day (when staff are present) and during the night (when control is required for
external perimeters or other critical points of the site).
During configuration it is necessary to define start and end times of the day sequence cycle : the
night one is active in the rest of the 24 hours.
Caution! If the night cycle is not used (the day cycle is active around the clock), start and
end-time of the day cycle must be set respectively at 00:00 and 23:59.
An apparent misoperation of the SW164OSM may be due to incorrect configuration of the start /
end time of day cycle.
The operator can select directly an input, suspending the day/night sequence cycle.
The return to the automatic cycle can be obtained:
• on request (by pressing
• automatically : a special function allows to restart automatically the sequence cycle after
one, five or ten minute after a single camera was selected. It is advisable not to use this
function in case of pan & tilt video inputs, in order to avoid the loss of the video signal during
the control of a pan & tilt motor.
Dwell time
2
Input 1 is shown for 2 seconds
4
Input 2 for 4 seconds
7
Input 5 for 7 seconds

Input 3 is not displayed since the duration is equal to 0
5
Input 2 is displayed again for 5 seconds
-
The automatic sequence cycle, with lack of further
programming steps, restarts from step A.
