TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOM
The motor is not working properly
Thermal circuit breaker tripped
Imprecise cutting angle at 0° and 45°
Excessive blade breakage
Premature blade dulling
Unusual wear on side or back of blade
Teeth ripping from blade
Motor runs hot
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Faulty motor, power cable or plug
Blown fuse in the electrical panel
No voltage in the mains system
The motor's thermal circuit breaker has
tripped
The motor has overheated
Motor overload caused by excessive
cutting pressure
Motor fault
Positions of the 0º miter limiter and/or
45º miter limiter are incorrect
Work piece is loose in vise
Incorrect speed or feed
Blade tooth spacing too great
Incorrect blade tension
Blade is in contact with workpiece before
starting saw
Blade rubs on wheel flange
Mis-aligned guide bearings
Teeth too coarse
Speed is too high
Inadequate feed pressure
Hard spots or scale on material
Blade twist
Blade guides are worn
Blade guide bearings not adjusted
properly
Blade guide bearing bracket is loose
Teeth are too coarse for the work
Too heavy pressure & too slow speed
Vibrating or chattering work piece
Teeth clogging
Blade tension too high
Drive belt tension too high
Gears need lubrication
Cut is binding the blade
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Get the machine checked by expert
personnel. WARNING! Never attempt to
repair the motor yourself
Check the fuse and reset or replace as
necessary
Check and have repaired
Release the start button and wait a
couple of minutes for the thermal circuit
breaker to reset itself
Check that motor ventilation air uptakes
are not clogged or obstructed
Perform cutting by applying the right
pressure on the workpiece
Get the machine checked by expert
personnel
Perform calibration by loosening the
fixing screws and repositioning the
stoppers
Clamp work securely
Adjust blade speed or feed rate
Use a slower blade speed and higher
TPI blade
Adjust tension to just where blade does
not slip on wheel
Allow saw to come up to speed before it
comes into contact with material
Adjust wheel alignment
Adjust bearings
Use finer tooth count
Decrease speed
Decrease pressure
Reduce speed, increase feed pressure
Replace with a new blade, and adjust
blade tension
Replace
Adjust
Tighten
Use finer tooth count
Decrease pressure, increase cutting
speed
Clamp work securely
Use coarser blade, use a brush to clear
away chips
Reduce tension on blade
Reduce tension on belt
Check oil bath
Decrease feed pressure and blade
speed
