When installing the handlebar stem again, make sure it is correctly aligned and screwed
in using a hexagonal Allen key.
Check that the handlebar is well inserted in the stem and that the attachment is well in-
serted in the fork tube. Lock the front wheel between your knees and try moving the han-
dlebar up and down, to the right and left and vice versa. The handlebar should not move
when pressure is applied to turn.
HANDLE
The exact position of the handlebar depends on your needs. For MTB bikes, the han-
dlebars must be horizontal, with the ends pointing back and slightly upwards. On BMX
bikes, the handlebars must remain in a more vertical position, but can be angled back
or forward if more comfortable. On racing bikes, the handlebar is usually screwed to the
stem by a single hexagonal bolt. On BMX and MTB there may be 4 bolts.
WARNING - If you want to replace the bicycle fork it is good to rely on a qualified techni-
cian.
WARNING - Never drive if the handlebar has not been correctly fixed. Risk of falling
and serious injury!
