WHEELS AND TYRES
Wheel check
It is very important that wheels are in good conditions.
For this reason, it is a good practice maintaining the wheels of the bicycle, increasing its
braking ability and its stability when riding. It is good to know that these problems could
occur:
- Dirty or greasy wheels:
WARNING – These conditions can make the brakes unproductive. Do not clean wheels
with oily and greasy substances.
Use a clean cloth or soapy water if they are really dirty. Dry them well. Pay attention
while riding if the wheels are wet. When you lubricate the bicycle do not touch the
wheel with oily or greasy substances.
-
Twisted wheels:
Lift up both wheels and make them turn to see if they are twisted. If they are, it is neces-
sary that expert personnel fixes it.
-
Broken or loose spokes:
Check if spokes are tight and if some of them are missing or damaged.
