Heating instructions
The stove may only burn with a closed door.
Type 1 stoves (with closed combustion chambers) are equipped with a door that closes automatically. This
door may only be opened when the fire is kindled or the combustion chamber is filled or cleaned (to
prevent possible problems regarding the draught of other stoves connected to the same chimney).
A regulated secondary air flow supply ensures post-combustion of the flammable fume components. This
makes the smoke cleaner and less damaging to the environment.
Should you wish to light the stove during transitional seasons you should first check the draught in the
chimney, since the draught is reduced by high outside temperatures. Open the door slightly and hold a
burning match in the opening. If the flame is not clearly drawn in, the chimney draught is inadequate. Burn
a small quantity of wood shavings in the stove to restore the draught. In order to guarantee good circulation
of the combustion air, the grate should always be cleaned before you light the stove.
WARNING ! In order to protect the environment, do not exceed the
quantities of wood indicated.

Maintenance
It is advisable to clean the stove and the fume outlet thoroughly at the end of the heating season. A
reduction in heating capacity can often be ascribed to contamination of the fume outlet channels.
In order to perform the maintenance you should first remove the grate, the grate frame and the ash pan.
Now the lining of the combustion chamber can be dismantled in the sequence indicated in fig. 7.
WARNING !
It is advisable to thoroughly check the stove at the end of the heating season. When repairs or improvements
must be made, you should contact your local distributor and state the model number and serial number of your
appliance. (You will find these numbers on the identification plate).
The ash pan must be emptied regularly (fig. 4)!
If the stove is hot, you should use the gloves supplied.
When emptying the ash pan, ensure that no glowing ash falls into the refuse bag.
Always ensure that the ash pan is pushed back right against the lining. The outside of the stove may only be
cleaned when the stove has cooled down completely. Use clean water to do this, or a soapy solution or cleaning
agent in exceptional cases. Now rub the stove dry.
Before using the stove for the first time, you should clean the ROBAX window with a damp, clean cloth. Now
place a few drops of a cleaning agent for ceramic glass (e.g. "Cera-Fix") on the inside and outside of the
window, and spread it on the window with a sheet of kitchen paper.
After the window has been dried and buffed, the surface of the ROBAX window will be coated with an invisible
film that will help to keep the window clean. Regular use of this product will facilitate maintenance of the
window.
Once resistant soot has been deposited on the window, you can scrape it off with a CERA-Quick scraper by
holding the scraper at a slight angle and making broad, sweeping movements. Now treat the windows with a
maintenance product (e.g. "Cera-Fix").
Care of the ceramic glass: dirt and fat can be removed with soap and water.
WARNING !
Never use scouring sponges, scouring agents, caustic or abrasive cleaning agents!
Should the grate become so dirty that it no longer works efficiently, it should be removed.

Maintenance of the soapstone:
Since soapstone is a natural stone, the small colour variations are normal and constitute no cause for complaint.
