Finish cutting process

WARNING
Risk of injury due to uncontrolled kickback of the
diamond cutter, caused by canting of the diamond
cutter in the cut chase.
Î Always wait for the diamond dry-cutting discs to
stop completely before removing the diamond
cutter from the cut chase.

Switch off the diamond cutter at the switch
(3), wait until the diamond dry-cutting discs have
completely stopped, and then remove the discs
from the chase and put down the cutter.
NOTE
Risk of breakage of diamond dry-cutting discs!
Î Never use the diamond dry-cutting discs to
break out the ridge of the chase.

With a cutting width of up to 50 mm or
27 mm, a clean chase is formed without a ridge.
NOTE
Blunt diamond dry-cutting discs can be resharp-
ened if necessary using BAIER whetstones or
other suitable materials.
Note and follow the information and instructions
on handling diamond dry-cutting discs (see
page 40).

Cleaning

DANGER
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
Î Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the diamond channel cutter.
The machine must be cleaned after each cutting
work session.
Carefully clean the machine and blow out with
compressed air.
Ensure handles are dry and free from grease.

Maintenance

DANGER
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
Î Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the diamond channel cutter.
The diamond channel cutter must be serviced at
least once a year. Further, servicing will be neces-
sary depending on the wear of the carbon brushes.
Only servicing and repair firms authorised by
Maschinenfabrik OTTO BAIER GmbH may carry
out maintenance of the machine. Also ensure that
original BAIER spare parts and original BAIER
accessories only are used.

Replacing the dust deflector

NOTE

New dust deflectors (6) can be ordered from
Maschinenfabrik OTTO BAIER GmbH (see
page 40).

Undo and remove the screw (1) from the
protective hood (2).

Remove the dust deflector (3) from the
groove in the protective hood (2).
Insert new dust deflector (3) into the groove

of the protective hood (2).

Turn the screw (1) into the protective
hood (2), to secure the dust deflector (3).
