2.3.3 Pull rope
The pull rope properties are decisive with respect to the reliability of the clamping jaw system. The rope structure and inherent
stability must be able to withstand the loads applied.
Therefore, only use the 4 x 19 (only HIT 6) or 6 x 19 (HIT 10, 16, 32) with solid PP core provided or approved by
HABEGGER.
The pull rope must not be lubricated.
We fully refuse to pay any damages or assume liability for damages resulting from the use of unsuitable ropes or ropes not
approved by us.
The rope diameter must comply with the specification on the type plate.
Risk of injury! Wear gloves when using pulley devices and wire ropes.
Welding work on the draw hook or rope are prohibited. When performing welding work on electrical equipment at another
location, make sure the welding current is never conducted via the pull rope or device.
Danger! The heat exposure lowers the stability of the hook or rope. Risk of breaking!
Damage to the rope: do not use crushed, untwisted, blunt, broken ropes or ropes with tangles or broken
strands.
Ropes with protruding wires: remove protruding wires.
Damage to the ends of the rope: If possible, shorten the rope.
Replace or repair hooks if the safety catch is missing.
Replace the rope if more than 10% of the nominal diameter has been worn down at the thinnest point under
nominal load.
Do not run rope connections, fittings, pressing heads, short splices, etc. against the pulley device. Protect the rope from being
damaged use suitable floor rollers or be placing wood/plastic under it if if it runs against sharp edges, obstacles, etc.
The rope must be professionally laid out, i.e. it has to be uncoiled from the winch so no loops, tangles or torsion occur.
Danger! Before the end of the rope reaches the device (min. 0.5 remaining length): Stop the rope from pulling
out. Risk of falling!
