to pressure cook
1 Put your food in the cooking pot. Or you can put a bowl on the rack provided
it's heatproof and there's room for air to circulate around and above it.
2 Ensure your level is not more than:
maximum amounts (including liquid)

'max' for solids (eg vegetables, joints of meat)

full for liquids and cereal (eg soup, fruit, stew, rice, cereal)

full for pulses (eg soya beans, chick peas)

The above maximum amounts must include the following liquid capacities in the
cooking pot.

●
Use a liquid that'll steam, eg water, stock. Never use oil or fat instead or use
your appliance for deep frying.

Never cook anything that'll rise (eg dumplings) – it could block the safety
devices.
●
Hint: using boiling liquid helps the appliance reach the correct pressure faster.
3 Lock the lid on.
4 Turn the control dial to 'pressure'
5 Press 'pressure mode' once to select 'low' or twice to select 'high'.
6 Press 'cook time' to set a cooking time.
7 Press 'start'.
●
The orange pressure indicator will rise as the pressure builds.
●
The timer will start when the appliance reaches the correct pressure.
●
If the control dial gets blocked, steam and food may shoot up out of the safety
valves.
8 When the cooking time ends, the appliance will beep.
9 Remove the lid after the orange pressure indicator drops.
●
Release pressure slowly by allowing the unit to cool to room temperature (the
appliance will beep regularly as it cools).
●
Release pressure quickly by pressing the steam release button in short bursts
Steam will hiss out of the control dial.

Only remove the lid after the orange pressure indicator has
dropped.
to delay start
1 After selecting your programme, if you want cooking to start in 30, 60, 90 or
120 minutes, press the 'delay' start to set the time to '0.5', '1.0', '1.5', '2.0'.
2 Press 'start'

the delay timer starts immediately.
Don't use this for perishable food (meat, poultry, fish, seafood)

care and cleaning
●
Before cleaning, unplug and let everything cool. Never pour cold water into a
hot pressure cooker.
●
Never put the appliance in water or let the cord or plug get wet – you could get
an electric shock.
●
Clean all parts after every use – keep the safety valves unblocked.

1 Remove the rubber ring.
2 Wash up in mildly soapy water. Use a sponge – nothing abrasive.
3 Rinse and dry.
●
Replace the rubber ring every year, or sooner if it's worn or hard: for a
replacement, see 'Service and customer care', page 3.

Press from underneath to ensure they move freely

1 Press and turn the dial to 'clean'
2 Wash under the tap.
3 Check the spring in the control dial moves freely.
4 Important - Clean the pipe under the control dial in the lid
to the light to check the pipe's clean.
5 Refit the dial.

Wash up in hot soapy water, then dry.

Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry.
