Anchoring of the air compresor
WARNING: Risk of bursting. Excessive vibration
can weaken the air tank and cause an explosion. The
compressor must be properly mounted.
The air compressor must be bolted to a level, solid
concrete surface. Use concrete anchors, nuts (for
tightening the anchors), washers, and vibration pads
(see Service Parts) under each tank leg. Shims may be
required to level the compressor (not shown).
□
Place the air compressor on a level, solid
surface. Make sure the concrete is in good
condition with no cracks or damage.
□
Mark the surface of the concrete using the holes
in the legs of the compressor as a template.
□
Drill holes in the concrete for the anchors. Install
the anchors into the concrete.
□
Place each vibration pad over the anchors. The
rubber portion of the pad must be in contact with
the floor.
□
Install the compressor with each anchor going
through the hole in each compressor leg. This
may require assistance to prevent injury.
□
Make certain the vibration pads are positioned
properly under each leg.
□
Place a washer on top of each leg and install the
nut for each anchor.
□
Tighten each nut to 7-10 ft/lbs. (9.5-13.5 Nm).
