Device description
The SIKA piston flow monitor of the VM100 series are designed for minimum or maximum
monitoring of liquid flows.
The housing (1) +(2) of the VM100 is fitted on a normal
valve body (3).
The device is connected to the process system by the
female threaded ports (DN 15 + DN 20) respectively by
the flange (DN 25 ... DN 80) of the valve body (3).
The piston system and the holder for the switching unit
are located inside the housing body (2) ( § 3
"Components and function").
The housing cover (1) is fixed to the housing body (2) of
the VM100 with screws (4).
The screw terminals for the electrical connection and the
switching unit are located under the housing cover (1).
The cable gland (5) are located on side of the housing
body (2).
Version:
The VM100 series is available with valve bodies having
nominal diameters DN 15 to DN 80. The switching point
range is adjustable and depends on the nominal diameter.

1.1 Intended use

The piston flow monitor of the VM100 series are designed for minimum or maximum monitor-
ing of liquid flows.
WARNING! No safety component!
The piston flow monitor of the VM100 series are not safety components in accordance
with Directive 2006-42-EG (Machine Directive).
 Never use the VM100 as a safety component.
The operational safety of the device supplied is only guaranteed by intended use. The speci-
fied limits ( § 7 "Technical data") may under no circumstances be exceeded.
Before ordering and installation, check that the piston flow sensor suitable to your application.
