Open up the outermost hole in the double-ended
servo output lever using a 2 mm Ø bit, so that the
rudder pushrod fits in it. Press the rubber
grommets (supplied with the servo) into the
mounting lugs of the rudder servo, followed by the
brass spacer sleeves, which are fitted into the
holes in the grommets from the underside. Place
the rudder servo in the opening in the hull, drill 1.5
mm Ø pilot-holes through the grommets, and fit
the retaining screws
IMPORTANT: take care not to damage the servo
lead by trapping it under one of the screws.

Set the rudders to the 'straight ahead' position,
and connect the pushrod to the servo output arm.
Secure the pushrod with a plastic retaining clip
(keeper).

The batteries are secured in the model using
Velcro (hook-and-loop) tape. NOTE: the Velcro
tape provides an easy method of adjusting the
battery position, in order to achieve the correct
fore-and-aft trim. TIP: once you have established
the correct trim, mark the position of the batteries
using a waterproof felt-tip pen so that you can be
sure of re-installing them in the correct position.
We recommend installing the batteries as a block
of four immediately forward of the motors.

Install the receiver and the speed controllers
adjacent to the rudder servo using Velcro tape.
•
The receiver aerial should be deployed as close as
possible to the superstructure coaming, and fixed
in place with strips of adhesive tape. The aerial
must be fitted above the waterline, as it will not
pick up a signal if it is below the surface.
•
You can finish off your model by applying the bow
coats of arms and the NATO registration placards
in accordance with the name you have chosen.
The coats of arms can be secured with a little
cyano; the large registrations should be applied to
the side, and the small one to the stern. The
correct positions are shown in the photos; our
model is finished bearing the registration of the
Rommel.
