The separate installation of the SCSI host adapter in case of an already
installed Windows NT system. This type of installation can also be selected
when first installing Windows NT, provided that the devices connected to the
host adapter are not needed for the installation.
1.1. Installation During Windows NT Installation
First carry out the Windows NT installation as prescribed and keep your SCSI
driver disk ready. If you do not use your original disk, make sure that the
"TXTSETUP.OEM" file must be placed in the main directory and the other Windows
NT files in the "\WINNT" directory. In the course of the Windows NT installation, you
will be given the option to set up additional SCSI host adapters. Insert your SCSI driver
disk into drive A:. The set-up programme then displays the exact name and type of the
DC-29160 U3W and repeatedly asks for your confirmation via the ENTER key, which
will cause your SCSI host adapter to be installed.
1.2. Subsequent Installation
From the Windows control panel, address "SCSI Adapter" and select the heading
"driver". At this stage, activate the button "add" and then "floppy disk", after which you
will be asked to insert your SCSI driver disk into a drive and to specify the respective
directory. When using your original floppy disk, the files necessary for installation are
found in the "\WINNT" directory.
button. To address the connected devices, Windows NT must be restarted.
