7.4.8 Installing fluorescence
(IM-3F and IM3FL4 only)
• Disconnect all electrical cables before installing or replacing the bulb.
• The bulb has an anode and a cathode of different sizes. Respect the polarity during
assembly, respecting the bulb dimensions.
• Do not touch the bulb of the lamp with bare hands to leave no traces of grease on the bulb.
If this happens, clean the bulb with a soft cloth before turning on the lamp.
• The lamp has an average life of about 200-250 hours: a time counter and a voltage indicator
are shown on the lamp power supply. Replace the lamp when the hour count exceeds 250
or if the voltage drops below 4.5A.
• During use, the lamp, the lamp housing and the surrounding environment become hot.
• Before replacing the lamp, switch off the power supply, disconnect all cables and wait for
the lamp and the lamp housing to cool.
• After switching on the lamp, wait at least 10-15 minutes before switching it off.
• After switching off the lamp, wait for 5-10 minutes before switching it on again so that the
mercury vapors have time to condense.
• The lamp contains ultraviolet radiation that could be harmful to eyes and skin. Always look
at the lamp arc through the provided orange screen.
• Fluorescence filters are installed before ship-
ment from the factory. Therefore, no user in-
tervention is required
1. Remove the black plastic cover out, from the mi-
croscope rear.
2. Insert the fluorescence illuminator from the back.
In order to ease the insertion, just tilt the assem-
bly at about 45° and move it forward. Fix it using
the 3 provided allen screws. (Fig. 13)
3. Insert the lamp house and fix it with the allen
screw ①. (Fig.14)
• Please use the provided power supply. If lost
or damaged, please refer to qualified service.
• Connect the power supply to a grounded
(earthed) wall outlet only.
4. Remove one of the knurled knobs from the filter
holder and slide it into the slot placed in the back
side of the microscope. (Fig. 15)
5. Once inserted, reinstall the knurled knob.
