Before Using
1.
Clean the kernel filter/warming deck and the inside of the main unit with a moist,
non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Wipe with a clean cloth and dry thoroughly.
2. Check brackets to make sure the kettle's side arms are correctly seated, the rotating rod
and top gear are properly locked into position.
3. Check to be sure the kettle's power cord is securely connected to the motor outlet located
at your top right forward corner of the main unit. (See Figure 5.)
4. Flip both kettle lids up and wipe the insides of the kettle.
5. Make sure the front (clear) door is in position.

Operating Instructions

1.
Use the storage cabinet in the Vintage Cart to keep the necessary popcorn supplies close
at hand: popcorn kernels, popping oil, seasonings, popcorn scoop, kernel measuring cup,
and oil measuring spoon, plus bowls or bags for serving,
2. Before popping corn, check to make sure front door is correctly attached, popcorn kettle
is resting in the support brackets, the gear is securely engaged in the roof of the main unit
and the kettle's 3-prong plug is plugged into the kettle's motor outlet.
3. Make sure the front plate is installed and is flat against the main unit; the front door is closed;
popcorn chamber is closed and ready for popping corn.
4. Make sure the LIGHT, HEATER and STIR buttons are OFF (O).
5. Plug the main power supply cord into a 3-prong 120V AC electrical outlet.
6. Open the front door. Wearing oven mitts, use the kettle's lid handle to open the kettle lid.
Add a maximum of 1/3 cup popping oil (your choice) to the kettle.
7. Add a maximum of 1 cup raw popcorn kernels (standard or gourmet).
NOTE: 1 cup of raw popcorn kernels produces 26 to 30 cups of popped corn.
NOTE: Seasonings (salt for plain/buttered popcorn, or sugar for kettle popcorn) should be
added to freshly popped corn, in a separate bowl for every variety. This will prevent carry-over
seasoning for subsequent batches and require easier cleanups for later use.
WARNING: To avoid damage to the 8oz Theatre Popcorn Maker, NEVER add more than 1 cup
popcorn kernels or 1/3 cup popping oil to the kettle at one time.
8. Press the LIGHT, HEATER and STIR buttons ON ( | ). The kettle will begin to heat and the stir
will rotate. The spotlight will illuminate to keep popped corn warm.
9. After 2 minutes, popping will begin and popped corn will spill from the kettle into
the popping chamber.
10. After popping has ceased, open the front door. Rotate the kettle tilt knob counter-clockwise
and knock it lightly on the bar to release the last remaining popped kernels.
CAUTION: Always wait until all popping ceases before opening the front door.
11. Pull the front door open, tilt the front plate open to make the popcorn chamber more
accessible. Use the scoop to slide popcorn and kernels over the kernel filter. This will enable
loose kernels and fragments to fall into the catch tray below and not be served.
12. Scoop popped corn into serving bags or bowls.
13. Continue popping another batch of popcorn, add fresh oil and follow the Operating
Instructions previously described.
NOTE: Preheat times will be less as the popcorn kettle may be hot to start.
14. To turn the 8oz Theatre Popcorn Maker OFF, press illuminated LIGHT, STIR and HEATER
buttons to OFF (O). Then remove plug from wall outlet.
CAUTION: Always unplug the 8oz Theatre Popcorn Maker when not in use.
