Electrical connections

Electrocution hazard. Always remove power to the instrument before making electrical connections.
Electrocution hazard. Protective Earth Ground (PE) connection is required.
Always use cables and wiring practices that meet or exceed local, state and national electrical codes.
Use rigid conduit, waterproof flexible conduit or flexible cord for electrical connections as allowed by
local electrical codes.
A power cord less than 3 meters (10 feet) in length can be used if:
• All local, state and national electrical codes are obeyed
• It has three 18-gauge conductors (including a safety ground wire)
• It has a sealing-type strain relief to keep the NEMA environmental rating
Always use the standard three-wire connection for line power. Add wire lugs to the ends of the wires
and connect the wires as shown in
Make sure that power and safety ground service drops are 18 to 12 AWG wire (1.0 to 4.0 mm²) with
insulation applicable for applied voltages. Do not use wire size less than 18 AWG wire (1.0 mm²).
When service drops are inside conduit or flexible conduit, they must connect to a user-supplied,
dedicated local disconnect. The dedicated local disconnect must:
