The fact that the towing bracket has been mounted to the vehicle must be entered in the
vehicle papers at the next possible opportunity. The mounting instructions must be added to
the vehicle papers.
General Installation Intructions:
If present, remove insulating compound and/or underseal in the area of the towing bracket
contact surfaces. Coat bare bodywork with anti-corrosion paint.
Mount 7-pin electrical system as per DINV 72570.
Mount 13-pin electrical system as per ISO 11446.
Retighten all mounting bolts of the towing bracket after aprox. 1000 towing km. Please note,
that after mounting the drawbar the mass of your vehicle will change.
Mounting instructions:
Take out the spare wheel, then remove the inner cover of the trunk, including the plastic
–
cover of the back wall. Dismantle the rear bumper.
Drill the bottom sheet with bit ∅10.5 mm from the upper side at the factory made punching
–
at position „a" and „b". There are ready, factory made drillings on lower edge of the
chassis beam.
Place the body of the drawhook (1) into the trunk, and after having the distance holder
–
pipes put in the chassis beam from the lower side, fix it loosely at point „a" and „b".
Drill the bottom sheet with bit ∅10.5 mm through the holes „c" and „d" on the central plate
–
of the body of the dreawhook.
Fix the body of the drawhook (1) at point „d", too, then screw the draw-ball to the body of
–
the drawhook through the rear wall of the car at holes „c" of the holder plate.
Set the drawhook and finalise the tightening of the bolts. Break out the plastic cover of the
–
back wall according to the factory made marking. Cut out the bumper according to the
enclosed punching template.
By means of opening the rear cable bundle, complete the electrical connections according
–
to the regulations.
Reinstall the bumper and the plastic cover of the rear wall. Put the spare wheel and the
–
cover of the trunk back.
Only specialised services are authorised to install drawhooks.
