INTRODUCTION
The 190XB/055XB is one of the most versatile and popular tripods in the Manfrotto range: it's
V
lightweight and portable enough to take in the field, yet strong enough for a medium format
camera, small view cameras, spotting scope and the latest generation of digital video cameras.

SET UP
Open the 3 tripod legs.
To adjust the height of the tripod, each leg has telescopic extensions that can be released by
rotating lever "A" on the locking collar "B". When the required height is achieved, lock lever "A".

LEG ANGLE ADJUSTMENT
Each leg can be set at 4 angles of spread.
To change the angle on a leg, close the leg towards the centre column slightly and press down
the locking button "C" at the top of the leg. Whilst holding the button down, select the new leg
angle and then release button "C" to lock in position.

The angle of each leg can be adjusted independently of the other two legs.
The last position allows to achieve the floor level.

CENTER COLUMN HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
To release the centre column "D", unlock knob "E" and adjust the height of the column as
required. Tighten knob "E" to lock the column in position.

HEAD ATTACHMENT PLATE
The head attachment plate "F" allows very low angle shots without the need to reverse the

centre column.
- push the button "Q" and pull out the head attachment plate "F"
- unlock the lever "E"
- remove the column "D"
- mount the head attachment plate "F" on the tripod by pressing it down inside the
top shoulder hole until the click taking care to align button "S" with part "V"
- lock in position the head attachment plate "F" by tightening the lever "E"
Now, you can mount the head on the head attachment plate "F"
To prevent the plate "F" with head and camera accidentally falling out from the tripod
and damaging the camera, it is crucially important that locking lever "E" remain tightly
locked at all times. Before disassembling, first remove the head from the head attachment plate
and then remove the head attachment plate "F" from the shoulder by loosening the lever "E".
Never use the head attachment plate "F" on the bottom position as shown in fig. 1.
MOUNTING AND REMOVING A CAMERA HEAD
Remove the cap "Z" (fig. 1)

Mount the camera head on the plate at the top of the centre column via the 3/8" mounting
screw (screw head clockwise). Then raise the centre column and with a small screwdriver,
tighten the three set screws "M" up against the base of the head, taking care not to force them.
This unique feature works especially well with Manfrotto heads due to the specially designed
base, which prevents the head unscrewing accidentally. To remove the head, loosen the set
screws "M" and unscrew the head from the column (counter-clockwise).

NOTE
For outdoor use, especially in windy conditions, it is possible to stabilise the tripod by
hooking a counterweight (not supplied) onto the ring "L".

LEG LOCK TENSION ADJUSTMENT
If the telescopic leg extensions slip even after having tightened the locking lever "A", the locking
tension will need to be adjusted. In order to do this:
- remove cap "K"
- release lock lever "A"
- turn the screw "P" clockwise using the special key "N" provided on one of the tripod legs.

Normally a third of a turn will be sufficient to achieve the correct locking tension.

Il treppiede 190XB/055XB è uno dei modelli più versatili e diffusi della gamma Manfrotto: è
leggero e portatile per essere utilizzabile anche in trasferta, eppure abbastanza robusto da
risultare idoneo anche per fotocamere di medio formato, piccoli banchi ottici, telescopi e per la
più recente generazione di videocamere digitali.
CARATTERISTICHE PRINCIPALI:
• Adattatore per riprese dal basso.
• Apertura indipendente delle gambe su 4 angolazioni.
• Punto d'aggancio per cinghia opzionale o peso stabilizzatore.
• Impugnature in gomma su 2 gambe.
PREPARAZIONE
Divaricare le 3 gambe.
Per regolare l'altezza del treppiede, ogni gamba dispone di allungamenti telescopici che si
possono liberare ruotando la leva "A" sul manicotto "B". Ottenuta l'altezza desiderata, bloccare
la leva "A".
REGOLAZIONE DELL'ANGOLAZIONE DELLE GAMBE
Ciascuna gamba prevede 4 angolazioni d'apertura. Per cambiare l'angolazione di una gamba,
chiuderla leggermente verso la colonna centrale e premere il pulsante di bloccaggio "C" posto
alla sommità. Tenendo premuto il pulsante, selezionare la nuova angolazione e poi rilasciare
il pulsante "C" per bloccare la gamba nella posizione desiderata. Ogni gamba può essere
angolata in modo indipendente dalle altre due. La posizione di massima divaricazione consente

le riprese raso terra.
REGOLAZIONE DELL'ALTEZZA DELLA COLONNA CENTRALE
Per liberare la colonna centrale "D", sbloccare la manopola "E" e regolare a piacere l'altezza
della colonna. Per bloccare la colonna in posizione stringere la manopola "E".
ADATTATORE PER RIPRESE DAL BASSO
L'adattatore per riprese dal basso "F" consente riprese raso terra senza la necessità di
capovolgere la colonna centrale.
- premere il pulsante "Q" ed estrarre l'adattatore per riprese dal basso "F"
- sbloccare la manopola "E"
- rimuovere la colonna "D"
- montare l'adattatore per riprese dal basso "F" sul treppiede inserendolo nella crociere al posto
della colonna fino a percepire uno scatto, avendo cura di allineare il pulsante "S" con la parte "V"
- bloccare in posizione l'adattatore per riprese dal basso "F" serrando la manopola "E"
A questo punto si può montare la testa sull'adattatore per riprese dal basso "F"
Per prevenire la caduta accidentale dell'adattatore "F" insieme alla testa e alla fotocamera, che
comporterebbe seri rischi di danni, è di cruciale importanza che la manopola di bloccaggio
"E" rimanga sempre ben serrata. Per un corretto smontaggio, iniziare rimuovendo la testa
dall'adattatore per riprese dal basso e solo in seguito rimuovere l'adattatore per riprese dal
basso "F" dalla crociera allentando la manopola "E". Non usare mai l'adattatore per riprese dal

basso "F" nella posizione capovolta mostrata in fig. 1.
MONTAGGIO E RIMOZIONE DI UNA TESTA
Rimuovere il coperchietto "Z" (fig. 1).
Montare la testa sul disco di fissaggio, posto alla sommità della colonna centrale, tramite
l'apposita vite da 3/8" (da avvitare in senso orario). Quindi sollevare la colonna centrale e
serrare bene con un piccolo cacciavite i tre grani "M" contro la base della testa, evitando però
di forzarli. Questa caratteristica particolare opera al meglio con le teste Manfrotto, grazie alla
speciale conformazione della loro base che previene rotazioni indesiderate della testa. Per
rimuovere la testa, allentare i grani di fissaggio "M" e svitare la testa dalla colonna (in senso
antiorario).

NOTA
Per l'uso in esterni, soprattutto nelle condizioni di forte vento, è utile stabilizzare il treppiede
(
appendendo un peso (non fornito) all'anello "L".
REGOLAZIONE DELLA TENSIONE DI BLOCCO DELLE GAMBE
Se le sezioni telescopiche tendono a scivolare anche dopo aver serrato le leve "A", occorre
ripristinare un'adeguata forza di bloccaggio. A questo scopo:
- rimuovere la protezione "K"
- allentare la leva di bloccaggio "A"
- avvitare la vite "P" in senso orario con la speciale chiave "N" fissata ad una delle gambe del
treppiede.
Normalmente sarà sufficiente la rotazione di un terzo di giro per ripristinare la corretta tensione
di bloccaggio.
