■ Note: Use Coleman
disposable propane cylinders. The
LP-gas cylinder(s) used with lanterns
must be constructed and marked in
accordance with the specifications
for LP-gas cylinders of the U.S.
Department of Transportation or
Transport Canada, CAN/CSA B339.
■ Take lantern
outdoors away
from ignition
sources.
■ Turn fuel valve
off. (Fig. 13)

■ Screw propane
cylinder into
lantern. Take
care not to
cross-thread.
Hand tighten
only. (Fig. 15)
■ Place lantern
upright for
lighting. (Fig. 16)

■ Turn fuel
valve on.
The valve
will click
and a spark
will jump
between
electrodes
and ignite the mantle. (Fig. 17)
NOTE: If lantern does not light, repeat
above step after turning fuel valve
completely off. If the lantern is wet
due to rain, high humidity, etc., the
valve may not spark. Use match
lighting procedure as follows.
NOTE: If lantern does not light, repeat
above step. If the lantern does not light
after several attempts, check for a spark
while clicking the igniter. If no spark is
present, check the electrode gap. The
gap should be about .2" (5 mm). Carefully
grasp and turn the top of the burner with
a pair of pliers to adjust the gap. (Fig.
18) If the lantern is wet due to rain, high
humidity, etc., the electrode may not
spark. Use lighting procedure for match
light version lanterns.

protective cap
from top of
propane cylinder.
Save cap for use
in storing.
